Digital Entry--Chapter 1

'We are going digital now", reverberated past midnight in my mind.The computer has to be fixed.The printer, too, needs a cartridge.Internet connection ,here in this remote area is a challenge.The ordinary smart phone ,has its limitations.

" Ani ,you have to attend the workshop conducted by the Microsoft Teams to take online classes.," the Subject - Coordinators voice was not very inviting.

" It's lockdown now.Only when things normalize can I try furnishing myself with the needful," was my unacceptable response.

More than two hundred went beserk to upgrade and update themselves for survival.

'Ani ,I am looking for you .Can you hear me? the Principal's voice was loud and clear on the digital platform.

I could hear clearly but typed my response in the Chat Box that was immediately visible to the Online Programme - in - charge and those who switched over to the Chat Box ,now and then, out of curiosity.

They thought me to be a gadget geek.Frustration was trying to rope me in.

The US,Russia,Germany,France ,Italy China and many more were dumbfounded.

All heads - political ,religious,economic,social and academic had more than frequent meetings to work out strategies to keep life safe yet convenient.

Ani lived alone.She decided to pay her maid a six months advance and let off her cook with a years advance and a staggering word of honour that ' whenever required ' they would surely be contacted.

Ani's  priorities had to be worked out logically .'Introspect rationally",she told herself," Mind you any sloppy emotionalism ,any moronic idea,any slipslod plan can misfire".

Survive you must with whatever you have.

Compromise to survive.

Try balancing as many equations of life ,every moment ,without letting go of your in- built joy.
