With Feet on the Ground

When the feet is on a concrete floor
It hurts
On sand
It aspires for a grip
On polished marble
It slips....
How does she move forward...e god backward?
She had a twist,she had a fracture
She is cautious about every step now;
She gave up galloping or strides;
Hey folks ,she tries to walk on to a better tomorrow
She is on the look out for a chit chat for the cosy walk
A faithful four legged or a casual biped
Does not really matter...just be by her
And sing along a happy song with her.

        SMILES
Part 1
It's a painful gift
To be shared with others
To take their agony away.
The woman who cooks a lovely meal
Her husband returns past midnight
Womanizer drunk and famous
Smiles to see him take it grudgingly
Smiles and waits for a recognition;
He changes, removes his clothes
Sits with his laptop in his underwear
His women friends of earlier years and now
His new contact on porn sites
Waiting to see him expose more
New dates are made for the days to come;
His pretty, loyal wife prepares the bed for him;
With warmth and smile, she waits for him
In her nightwear; She is his sleeping pill

Part 2
She still smiles
She smiled earlier when
Her father told her to give
Her best doll to her younger sister;
Her mother took her favourite comb
And lost it -- never apologised.
Her brother demanded and got a wrist watch
She stood first in first Boards and got only a pen
Her grandmother made a whole in her favourite dress
Trying to iron it and she was never sorry for it;
She was married to the wrong man
Everybody thought him to be the right man.
She wanted a daughter -- a son was born
A son who adored independence ,space and overbearing too
She the gave birth to twins and both were boys again
She lived for them --herself forgotten.
She smiles now
In her palatial dwelling
Three dogs of great breed
Attendants at beck and call
Her only man is everybody's but hers
;Her sons well placed
They wish her online on every anniversary.

Every year the autumn leaves fall
Every year the winter freezes the bones
She waits every year for Spring
With a smile.
